Launching your own e-commerce website is always better than having a store with Amazon. If you sell something on Amazon, you have to pay a commission to them, but when you sell something from your website, you don’t have to pay a commission. Naturally, you can keep the price lower than those who sell on Amazon. I would suggest you open your own e-commerce website rather than selling on Amazon. However, be mindful of the fact that if you publish your products on Amazon, they will promote your products on your behalf. When you actually run your own e-commerce platform, you have to take care of everything yourself, which can be very very expensive. If you are not limited by your budget, it is always advisable to have your own website. If you are a start-up, start your operation by selling on Amazon and when your products are popular move to your own e-commerce website. This is in my opinion the most appropriate strategy.
